What if I lose a device, or my phone?
In a Casa vault, no single key is a point of failure. Lose one to damage, theft or a mistake, and your funds stay safe and accessible, and the Casa Key can help you recover.
Can Casa take or freeze my bitcoin?
No. Casa holds one of your vault's keys, the Casa Key, and moving funds takes a majority of them: three of five on Premium, two of three on Standard. Casa can never move your bitcoin on its own.
How does inheritance work?
You invite your recipients with just an email and assign them a key in your vault, which stays dormant while you're alive. If you pass away or can no longer manage your assets, they request a transfer in the Casa app, and Casa runs a six-month inactivity check before they can move the assets. If anyone requests access while you're alive, you have time to cancel the claim.
Do I need my own hardware wallet?
On Standard, you bring your own. Premium ships a security kit with three hardware devices, plus faraday bags and tamper-evident bags, and our advisory team helps you set them up.
Why a membership, and not a one-time purchase?
Because Casa is people as well as software: a team to help you set up and recover, the Casa Key for when life happens, inheritance for your family, and on Premium the security kit and priority video support.
Do I need to verify my identity?
No. You open a Casa Vault with an email address, with no ID or KYC. Premium ships hardware to you, so checkout asks for a shipping address. Buying and selling bitcoin in the app is separate: it runs through a regulated partner that verifies identity, and you never have to use it.
What happens to my bitcoin if Casa shuts down?
Nothing changes. You hold your own keys, and your vault uses open multisig standards, so you can recover your bitcoin with widely available wallets like Sparrow or Electrum, without Casa's involvement.
What's the difference between Casa Standard and Premium?
Standard secures your bitcoin with a 3-key vault and you bring your own hardware wallet. Premium upgrades to a 5-key vault with wider geographic distribution, ships hardware to your door, and adds priority support and shared accounts.
